Sword seems to have more exclusive Pokemon than Shield which makes it easier to ‘catch em all’ instead of trying to trade Pokemon from the other if you like to play the game that way (you will still need to trade Pokemon from Shield to Sword but not as much as you would from Sword to Shield).
